The cells ability to receive signals from its environment is essential for proper cell function.

Cell Signaling

The reactions of cells to various internal and external stimuli are transmitted via cell signaling pathways. Transferring information from one location (exterior) to another (cytoplasm, nucleus) involves many components forming signal transduction cascades or pathways. Intracellular signal transduction is often accomplished through a series of reversible protein phosphorylation events. Protein kinases are enzymes that catalyze the transfer of the terminal phosphate group from ATP to a hydroxyl group of specific serine, threonine, or tyrosine residues on the downstream protein. Errors in these signaling pathways, caused by mutations that may result in constitutive expression, activation or inhibition of signaling proteins, are responsible for such diseases as diabetes, autoimmune disorders and cancer.

Anti-GREB1, clone GREB
This novel GREB1 antibody detects expression of GREB1, a putative membrane protein involved in estrogen signaling-mediated proliferation of breast cancer cells. Anti-GREB1 is validated to detect GREB1 in Western blots, IHC (as shown here in paraffin-embedded prostate tissue) and IC.

Anti-Ubiquitin K11 linkage, clone 2A3/2E6
Akt (protein kinase B), a serine/threonine kinase, has emerged as a critical enzyme in signal transduction pathways involved in cell proliferation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, and diabetes. Evaluated by immunoprecipitation on NIH3T3 whole cell lysate stimulated with PDGF.
