Multiplex Detection of Oxidative Phosphorylation (OXPHOS) as a Mechanistic Indicator for Mitochondrial Health and Toxicity

View data linking levels of intact OXPHOS complexes and OXPHOS activity to mitochondrial health, as measured using the MILLIPLEX® MAP Oxidative Phosphorylation (OXPHOS) Magnetic Bead Panels, available for human (Cat. No. H0XPSMAG-16K) and rat/mouse (Cat. No. RM0XPSMAG-17K)

The Relevance of Cellular Metabolism Studies

The Relevance of Cellular Metabolism Studies
Cellular metabolism is the process by which cells produce energy from organic substances using a set of pathways and processes that take place at the cellular and subcellular level. The outcome of cellular metabolism is the conversion of biochemical energy into ATP, using multiple pathways, including glycolysis, fatty acid oxidation, the Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. The latter three processes occur in the mitochondria, which therefore are key organelles regulating cellular metabolism and homeostasis. Cellular metabolism studies can be applied to multiple research areas and diseases, including neurodegeneration, aging, metabolic syndrome, obesity, cancer, cardiovascular disease and toxicity.
Millipore’s Cellular Metabolism Assays
Quantify the expression and activity of cellular metabolism pathway proteins using Millipore's immunoassays. MILLIPLEX® MAP bead-based multiplex assays enable measurement of multiple biomarkers in a single sample, providing a more accurate snapshot of pathway activity. Our growing ELISA portfolio enables precise, single-analyte assays. In addition, we offer select companion enzyme activity ELISA kits (in microplates) to enable correlation of protein biomarker levels and activity, for a richer, more complete picture of your cells’ metabolic state.

Millipore is the first to bring you multiplexed assays for cellular metabolism research, and we provide leadership and expertise for every stage of your research, through drug discovery and development. Together with our customers, we provide the cutting edge tools you need for your cellular metabolism research.
