Sepsis/Apoptosis Biomarkers

Sepsis or SIRS (systemic inflammatory response syndrome) results from infection, whether bacterial, viral, fungal or parasitic. This hyper-reaction to infection interrupts homeostasis through an uncontrolled inflammatory response, including glucocorticoids and catecholamines, mediators of the humoral immune response, and pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1α, IL-6 and TNFα, as well as increased apoptosis of lymphoid organs, leading to immune suppression. Severe sepsis can cause septic shock, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) and death.

Based on the Luminex xMAP platform, the MILLIPLEX MAP Human Sepsis / Apoptosis Panel helps you understand the role of cytokine biomarkers involved in sepsis and in the apoptotic pathway.

New MILLIPLEX MAP multiplex panels and ELISAs, including cytokine and chemokine biomarkers, will be introduced into our portfolio each quarter—sign up here to download a pdf or receive a hard copy of this quarter's update.
