Millipore - MIS Infrastracture engineer

POSITION DETAILS:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the Millipore Information Services team in an emerging market.

The successful candidate will take responsibility of the following areas:

Be responsible for the design and day-to-day administration of server, client (PC/Mobile), network and voice over IP infrastructure in Japan and other Asia Pacific countries
Identify and drive cost reductions, service delivery improvements, process efficiencies, risk mitigation and standardization across Millipore businesses by working closely with global and other regional MIS infrastructure management teams
Work with the application service teams for improvement of service quality
Ensure the patch release process to deploy software changes / security patches per supplier(s), aligning with a defined support structure
Manage escalated production problems within the MIS organization
Be capable of making sound technical decisions and offer solutions
Maintain industry and subject matter expertise for infrastructure support services level
Monitor and track service level of day-to-day server, network and client(PC/Mobile) operations
Communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical and technical users across cultural and geographic boundaries
Assist in managing business and IT management expectations without compromising user relationship
Be responsible to deal with necessary vendors
Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of IT project and support procedures. Ensure full compliance with information management policies, procedures and standards, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
This position interacts with all levels of management, including senior management, at both Millipore and at suppliers. Participates with IT leadership to ensure strategic direction, operational and quality goals are maintained.

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of infrastructure support experience within an IT organization
Technical knowledge and work experiences with multiple operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, etc.) and Cisco products including routers
Experience of Lotus Notes application support
Knowledge of computer (server and client) and network trends
Basic knowledge in project management and SDLC
Results-oriented, ability to deliver results, and strong customer orientation
Familiar with kaizen and continuous improvement techniques
Comprehensive understandings of information management and security
Ability to interact with all levels of management in a professional and positive manner.
Excel in organizational, analytical, time management skills
Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams, obtaining consensus.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills with strong influencing and persuasive talents.
Self-motivates, takes initiative and has the ability to effectively organize, multi-task and prioritize a wide array of initiatives. Has an aptitude for innovation.
Must be flexible, manage and follow up on projects and initiatives

Language Skills:

Fluent Japanese, English is required

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
Design, development and/or support of Data and Voice over IP telecommunication technology
