Entrez Gene Summary
Gamma-interferon (IFNG; MIM 147570) has an antiproliferative effect on many tumor cells and inhibits intracellular pathogens such as Toxoplasma and Chlamydia, at least partly because of the induction of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (INDO; EC 1.13.11.42). This enzyme catalyzes the degradation of the essential amino acid L-tryptophan to N-formylkynurenine.[supplied by OMIM]

Description:
Anti-IDO (Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase), clone 10.1
Replaces:
05-840 is a recommended replacement for AB5968
Background Information:
Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) is an enzyme that is responsible for converting tryptophan to kynurenines. IDO is expressed by a wide variety of tissues and IDO can be upregulated by interferon gamma. IDO modulates levels of the amino acid tryptophan, which is vital for cell growth, but is also involved in the suppression of the immune response. IDO may be involved in the suppression of the immune response to tumours and blocking the IDO pathway may be a potential target for immunotherapy.
Alternate Names:
  • Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase
  • Indoleamine-pyrrole 2,3-dioxygenase
  • indole 2,3-dioxygenase
  • indoleamine-pyrrole 2,3 dioxygenase
Clone:
10.1
Specificity:
Recognizes IDO (Indoleamine 2,3- Dioxygenase), Mr 42kDa.
Key Applications:
  • Immunocytochemistry
  • Western Blotting
Application Notes:
Immunocytochemistry

Immunogen:
GST fusion protein corresponding to residues 78-184 of human Indoleamine 2,3- Dioxygenase (IDO). Clone 10.1.
Molecular Weight:
42 kDa
Control:
Human IFN-gamma stimulated HeLa cell lysates, IFN gamma stimulated human peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Presentation:
Purified mouse monoclonal IgG in buffer containing 70% storage buffer 0.1 M Tris-glycine, pH 7.4, 0.15 M NaCl, 0.05% sodium azide and 30% glycerol.
Storage Conditions:
Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.

Handling Recommendations:
Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variabillity in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
Gene Symbol:
  • INDO
  • CD107B
  • IDO
Quality Assurance:
Routinely evaluated by Western Blot on untreated and IFNgamma treated (24 hrs) Hela lysates.

Western Blot Analysis:
1:500 dilution of this lot detected IDO on 10 ug of untreated and IFN gamma treated Hela lysates.
