Anti-phospho-PED/PEA-15 (Ser116)

Species Reactivity Key Applications Host Format Antibody Type
H, M WB Rabbit Affinity Purified Polyclonal Antibody
Description:
Anti-phospho-PED/PEA-15 (Ser116)
Trade Name:
Upstate (Millipore)
Specificity:
Recognizes phospho-PED/PEA-15 (Ser116)
Molecular Weight:
15 kDa
Immunogen:
Peptide corresponding to amino acid region encompassing the human, mouse, rat and frog phospho-PED/PEA-15 (Ser116).
Modifications:
Phosphorylation
Isotype:
Species Reactivity:
  • Human
  • Mouse
Species Reactivity Note:
Predicted to cross-react with rat based on sequence similarity, but has not been tested.
Quality Assurance:
Routinely evaluated by immunoblot.
Purification Method:
Affinity Purfied
Presentation:
100 μL of affinity purified rabbit polyclonal IgG in 50% storage buffer (PBS (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.3 containing 1.0 mg/mL BSA (IgG, protease free) and 0.05% sodium azide) and 50% glycerol.
Storage Conditions:
Stable for 2 years at -20°C from date of shipment.
Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerolcontaining solutions to become frozen during storage.

Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.
Entrez Gene Summary:
PEA15 is a death effector domain (DED)-containing protein predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in astrocytes.[supplied by OMIM]
Key Applications:
Western Blotting
UniProt Summary:
FUNCTION: SwissProt: Q15121 # Blocks Ras-mediated inhibition of integrin activation and modulates the ERK MAP kinase cascade. Inhibits RPS6KA3 activities by retaining it in the cytoplasm (By similarity). Inhibits both TNFRSF6- and TNFRSF1A-mediated CASP8 activity and apoptosis. Regulates glucose transport by controlling both the content of SLC2A1 glucose transporters on the plasma membrane and the insulin-dependent trafficking of SLC2A4 from the cell interior to the surface.
SIZE: 130 amino acids; 15040 Da
SUBUNIT: Binds RPS6KA3, MAPK3 and MAPK1. Transient interaction with PLD1 and PLD2 (By similarity). Interacts with CASP8 and FADD.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Note=Associated with microtubules.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Ubiquitously expressed. Most abundant in tissues such as heart, brain, muscle and adipose tissue which utilize glucose as an energy source. Lower expression in glucose- producing tissues. Higher levels of expression are found in tissues from individuals with type 2 diabetes than in controls.
PTM: Phosphorylated by protein kinase C and calcium-calmodulin- dependent protein kinase. These phosphorylation events are modulated by neurotransmitters or hormones.
SIMILARITY: SwissProt: Q15121 ## Contains 1 DED (death effector) domain.
