An ionic detergent for the solubilization of membrane-bound proteins. Reported to induce tyrosine phosphorylation of β-catenin and its subsequent translocation to the nucleus, promoting activation of β-catenin signaling (effective concentration 5-50 µM). Aggregation number: 4-10.
