Anti-Tubby/Tub Homolog

Species Reactivity Key Applications Host Format Antibody Type
M ELISA, WB Rabbit Affinity Purified Polyclonal Antibody
Description:
Anti-Tubby/Tub Homolog
Trade Name:
Chemicon (Millipore)
Specificity:
Recognizes Tubby/Tub homolog. The immunogen shows no significant sequence homology with Agouti, AGRP, TULP1 or TULP2.

SPECIES REACTIVITIES: The immunogen sequence is 95% homologous with human Tubby and human Tub homolog (Kleyn et al 1996; North et al. 1997). It is likely to cross react with mouse and human Tubby and human Tub. Reactivity with other species has not been confirmed.
Immunogen:
A 19 amino acid peptide near the N-terminus of mouse Tubby (Kleyn et al 1996; North et al. 1997).
Species Reactivity:
Mouse
Application Notes:
Western blot: 1-10 μg/mL using ECL.

ELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000 using 50-100 ng control peptide per well.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.
Presentation:
Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Liquid in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 0.2% BSA and 0.05% sodium merthiolate.

Usage Statement:
Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.
Entrez Gene Summary:
This gene encodes a member of the Tubby family of bipartite transcription factors. The encoded protein may play a role in obesity and sensorineural degradation. The crystal structure has been determined for a similar protein in mouse, and it functions as a membrane-bound transcription regulator that translocates to the nucleus in response to phosphoinositide hydrolysis. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
Key Applications:
  • ELISA
  • Western Blotting
