Description:
Anti-DEPTOR
Replaces:
09-463
Specificity:
This antibody recognizes the DEP domain that contains mTOR-interacting protein DEPTOR.
Molecular Weight:
~46 kDa observed.
Epitope:
DEP domain-containing mTOR-interacting protein DEPTOR.
Immunogen:
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the DEP domain-containing mTOR-interacting protein of human DEPTOR.
Background Information:
DEPTOR (DEPDC6, DEP domain-containing protein 6) was recently identified as a novel mTOR-interacting protein whose over-expression in certain cell types represents a new mechanism for activating PI3K/Akt signaling and promoting cell survival. DEPTOR negatively regulates mTORC1 and mTORC2. It has been shown that loss of DEPTOR activates various targets that include p70S6K1, Akt, and SGK1, that leads to cell growth and survival. Little was known about DEPDC6 prior to the discovery of its interactions with mTOR, at which time it was given the new name of DEPTOR (Peterson, T.R., et al. (2009). Cell. 137(5):873-876).
