Product Overview:
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic lymphoid cell growth factor that is produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils. This potent cytokine works by stimulating the growth and activation of certain B cells and T cells, as well as a variety of other hematopoietic cell types, and is important for the regulation and development of T helper subsets. Based upon current literature, IL-4 has also been shown to exhibit anti-tumor activity in experimental gliomas, which is likely mediated by the actions of IL-4 on a variety of immune cells present in and around the tumor masses. The Millipore human IL-4 ELISPOT Antibody Pair provides a sensitive and highly reliable method for the detection of IL-4 secreting cells at the single cell level.

The 500 µg purified IL-4 capture antibody is buffered in a preservative-free phosphate solution, pH 7.2, and the 100 µg purified IL-4 biotinylated detection antibody is buffered in a phosphate solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide. Streptavidin alkaline phosphatase is supplied in a Tris Buffer, pH 8.0, containing 0.1 M sodium chloride, 1 mM magnesium chloride, 0.2% (w/v) BSA, 10% (w/w) glycerol, and 0.1% sodium azide.
