Product Overview:
Interleukin 5 (IL-5) is a hematopoietic growth factor that is primarily produced by activated T lymphocytes, and is approximately 70% homologically identical in both human and mouse. IL-5 has been shown to promote the growth of immature hematopoietic BFU-E progenitors, as well as stimulate the activation and differentiation of eosinophils, and promote the generation of cytotoxic lymphocytes. In contrast to the human IL-5 protein, murine IL-5 also induces the differentiation and proliferation of pre-activated B-cells, which, when stimulated by bacterial endotoxin, induce the production and secretion of IgM and IgA. The Millipore mouse IL-5 ELISPOT Antibody Pair provides a sensitive and highly reliable method for the detection of IL-5 secreting cells at the single cell level.

The 500 µg purified IL-5 capture antibody is buffered in a preservative-free phosphate solution, pH 7.2, and the 100 µg purified IL-5 biotinylated detection antibody is buffered in a phosphate solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide. Streptavidin alkaline phosphatase is supplied in a Tris Buffer, pH 8.0, containing 0.1 M sodium chloride, 1 mM magnesium chloride, 0.2% (w/v) BSA, 10% (w/w) glycerol, and 0.1% sodium azide.
