Insulin-like Growth Factor-II, recombinant human
Description:
Insulin-like Growth Factor-II, recombinant human
Trade Name:
Chemicon (Millipore)
Product Overview:
Insulin Like Growth Factor-II (IGF-II) is a polypeptide growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types. Human IGF-II is a 7.5 kDa protein containing 67 amino acid residues.
Key Applications:
Cell Culture
Application Notes:
For most in vitro applications, IGF-II exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.5 to 25.0 ng/mL. Responding cells are (partial list): Bone, muscle cells.

Presentation:
Lyophilized powder with no additives
Stem Cell Type:
Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Purity:
Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis
Specific Activity:
Chemicon's Human IGF-II is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using FDC-P1 cells is <= 2.0 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of >= 5 x 105 units/mg.
Storage Conditions:
The lyophilized IGF-II, though stable at room temperature, is best stored at -20°C. After a quick spin, reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions. Reconstituted IGF-II should be stored in undiluted aliquots at -20°C for up to six months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
