Recombinant murine Wnt-3a is a monomeric glycoprotein containing 328 amino acid residues. When analyzed by SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions, the murine Wnt-3a migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 38.0-41.0 kDa.
Wnt-3a signalling has been implicated in the control of differentiation of stem cells. Wnt proteins have been shown to regulate cell-to-cell interactions during embryogenesis, more specifically regulating mesoderm differentiation and osteogenesis. The Wnts have also been shown to have putative roles in the regulation of adult stem cells.

The purified Wnt-3a protein has been shown to be bioactive as measured by its ability to induce an increase in alkaline phosphatase activity after a 3 day incubation with C2C12 myoblast cell line. The EC50 for this effect is typically 50-185 ng/mL.
Storage Conditions:
Maintain the lyophilized material at -20°C or -70°C up to one year from date of receipt. Resuspend in sterile PBS to a concentration of 100 μg/mL. Reconstituted Wnt-3a should be stored in single use aliquots with a carrier protein at -20C for up to three months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. When working with proteins care should be taken to keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature.
