ABI supplies a 5X buffer with BigDye version 3.1 and 1.1 chemistries. Can I use that buffer with the Montage SEQ96 kit? With Montage SEQ384 plates? » Answer

You can use the ABI 5X buffer for dilution of sequencing reactions following the ABI protocol. This 5X buffer is equivalent to Millipore's 2.5X buffer, so you no longer need to make up a separate buffer for sequencing reaction dilutions. If you are using a BigDye chemistry that does not include ABI's buffer (versions 1.0, 2.0, 3.0) you have the option to purchase the ABI buffer and using it per ABI's recommendations or continuing to use Millipore's 2.5X buffer as before.
