Background Information:
The evolution of our understanding of pluripotent and adult stem cell biology requires specific research tools to permit the characterization, isolation, and expansion of stem cells. HESCA-1, developed by Abeome Corporation, is the first in a series of novel, human embyronic stem cell antibodies produced to provide scientists with those needed tools.

Specificity:
This antibody is positive by immunofluorescence against H1, BG-01, BG01v, and BF02 human embryonic stem (hES) cell lines; however, it is unreactive for differentiated stem cells in teratomas and common feeder lines such as MEF, D-551, and Hs27. Reactivity with other hES lines has not yet been determined.
