Propidium Iodide/Antifade Solution

Description:
Propidium Iodide/Antifade Solution
Trade Name:
Chemicon (Millipore)
Qty/Pk:
Product Overview:
Propidium Iodide: {3,8-diamino-5-[3-(diethylmethylammonio)propyl]-6-phenylphenanthridinium diodide}. Antifade Solution: p-Phenylenediamine and glycerol in PBS solution. 2.5μg/mL Propidium Iodide (PI) suspended in Antifade.
Application Notes:
Propidium Iodide is a nuclear fluorescent stain used for counterstaining paraffin-embedded, formalin-fixed tissue, to discriminate between live vs. dead cells in flow cytometry, and staining metaphase chromosomes or interphase nuclei that have been hybridized with probes detected with Fluorescein, or equivalent fluors. Antifade prevents the permanent loss of fluorescence or fluorescent signal quenching due to photobleaching and prolonged exposure to high intensity light sources.
