The Mouse Embryonic Stem Cell Neurogenesis Kit provides a system designed for the neural differentiation of mouse ES cells. The kit contains all the reagents necessary to fully differentiate mouse ES cells into βIII-tubulin positive neurons in vitro following a modified 4-/4+ differentiation protocol (Bain, et al., 1995): (1) Poly-L-ornithine and Laminin, two key substrates that provide proper support for cell attachment and spreading, (2) Accutase Solution for the detachment of cells, (3) EB Formation Medium, a specially formulated medium that has been optimized and qualified to support the formation of embryoid bodies, (4) Neural Inducer A Solution, and (5) SSEA-1 and βIII-tubulin monoclonal antibodies to characterize the starting undifferentiated mouse ES cell populations and to validate the resulting neurons produced from the differentiation protocol provided, respectively.
