Background Information:
Gut hormones are a group of polypeptides secreted from the gastrointestinal tract. These peptide hormones play very important roles in the regulation of gut motility and secretion, pancreatic islet hormone secretion, appetite and energy expenditure. A multiplex assay to simultaneously measure the hormones Amylin (total), GLP-1 (active), GIP, Ghrelin (active), PYY (total), PP, Leptin, and Insulin provides a useful tool for studying the pathophysiological roles of these hormones.

This MILLIPLEX® MAP Canine Gut Hormone Magnetic Bead Panel is an Endocrine multiplex assay. The analytes available for this multiplex kit are: Amylin (Total), GIP, Ghrelin, Glucagon Like Peptide-1, Insulin, Leptin, PP, PYY (Total).
