Millipore is pleased to announce the release of the Mouse Adipsin ELISA kit. This kit will analyze up to 38 samples in duplicate, requiring as little as 5 ul of mouse serum, plasma or tissue culture supernatants. The availability of a mouse Adipsin ELISA should facilitate additional studies with regards to body weight regulation and metabolism, cardiovascular disease and immune regulation.
Background Information:
Mouse Adipsin (Complement Factor D) is a serine protease that is primarily synthesized as 44 and 37kD glycoproteins in adipose tissue. This enzyme is secreted into the bloodstream following deglycosylation (1,2). Adipsin levels appear to increase in obese humans, but levels in genetically and chemically induced obese mouse models (3,4) are not fully understood.

This assay requires 40 µl of 1:8 diluted sample and is performed at room temperature as a 4 hour assay.
