Millipore's MILLIPLEX MAP Circulating Cancer Biomarker magnetic bead panel consists of 25 circulating cancer biomarkers that can be used to study a wide range of tumor types. Some biomarkers are tumor type-specific, such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA), while others, such as IL-6, have been detected in many cancers.

Cancer research has always focused on intracellular biomarkers, such as HER2 and B-Raf, and in recent years, more and more attention has shifted to include soluble cancer biomarkers. While the use of intracellular markers in research helps clarify the process of oncogenesis, circulating cancer biomarkers give insight into how the body responds to the presence of a tumor, the dysregulation of homeostasis and the relationship between a tumor and its environment. Study of isolated biomarkers, whether intracellular or circulating, is often inadequate to fully characterize the complex relationship between tumor and non-tumor. Consequently, multianalyte panels have become essential tools that enable researchers to measure cancer biomarkers simultaneously, teasing out these relationships and applying them to understand tumor biology.

This MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Circulating Cancer Biomarker Magnetic Bead Panel is a Cancer multiplex assay. The analytes available for this multiplex kit are: AFP, CEA, CYFRA21-1, FGF-2, HE4, PSA Total, PSA free, HGF, IL-6, IL-8, Leptin, MIF, OPN - Osteopontin, Prolactin, SCF, sFas, sFasL, TGFα, TNFα, TRAIL, VEGF, CA125, CA15-3, CA19-9, β-HCG.

Multiplexing

• This is an overnight incubation assay requiring 25 µL of 1:6 dilution plasma or serum, or 25 μL cell culture supernatant per well.
• This kit may be used for the analysis of all or any combination of the cancer biomarkers in serum, plasma or tissue/cell lysate and culture supernatant with the following exceptions:
o Total PSA and Free PSA cannot be plexed together
