Entrez Gene Summary
The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily. Members of the MDR/TAP subfamily are involved in multidrug resistance. The protein encoded by this gene is an ATP-dependent drug efflux

Description:
Anti-MDR1, extracellular human specific Pgp, clone MM12.10
Alternate Names:
P-glycoprotein; CD243; p170; Pgp
Clone:
MM12.10
Specificity:
MDR-1 clone MM12.10 recognizes a mapped epitope in the extracellular Pgp domain and detects low-level Pgp expression in living (intact) human MDR cells (Cianfriglia, 2002). The epitope has been mapped to the single amino acid level using different techniques (Romagnoli, 1999).
Key Applications:
- Flow Cytometry
- Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin)
Application Notes:
Immunohistochemistry on formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections
Confocal and Electron Microscopy
ELISA
Functional Studies (Cianfriglia, 2002)
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.
