Background Information:
Insulin-like growth factor binding proteins (IGFBP’s) are expressed by multiple tissues and cells, such as hepatic non-parenchymal cells. Circulating IGFBP’s regulate IGF-induced signal transduction and IGF-dependent cellular process such as glucose uptake and cellular proliferation. Therefore, it is assumed that IGFBP’s may be indicative of such diseases as hypoglycemia and various cancers.
Applications:
This MILLIPLEX® MAP Mouse IGF Binding Protein Magnetic Bead Panel is a Metabolism multiplex assay. The analytes available for this multiplex kit are: IGFBP-1, IGFBP-2, IGFBP-3, IGFBP-5, IGFBP-6, IGFBP-7.
