Background Information:
Cytokines play a fundamental role in the pathogenesis of many diseases and are key targets for drug development. The discovery that soluble cytokine receptors are involved in regulating excessive inflammatory responses and modulating immune events has stimulated significant research interest in their potential role as immunotherapeutic agents. Many of these soluble cytokine receptors have the ability to inhibit the binding and biological activity of their cytokine ligands, making them very specific cytokine antagonists. The Mouse Soluble EGF Receptor Single Plex quantitatively measures the mouse soluble Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (sEGFR) biomarker in mouse serum, plasma, cell/tissue culture supernatant, tissue/cell lysate, or other body fluid samples.
