Rat PP RIA Kit

Description:
Rat PP RIA Kit
Background Information:
Rat Pancreatic Polypeptide (PP), plays an important role in the regulation of food intake, energy expenditure, and body weight. It has been shown to affect the secretion of pancreatic enzymes, water and electrolytes, as well as influencing gastric emptying and gut motility. Increased levels of PP have been observed after exercise, prolonged fasting and in diabetes. While serum PP levels can be elevated in patients with duodenal ulcers, type 1 diabetes, and carcinoid syndrome, lower levels occur in patients with pancreatic insufficiency and pancreatitis. In addition, levels of PP may be a valuable biomarker for cancer research, as elevated levels of PP have been observed in patients with pancreatic endocrine tumors.

Millipore is proud to offer the first Rat PP RIA specially designed for the measurement of rat PP in serum, plasma, or tissue culture samples. Due to the importance of PP in the study of metabolic disease, Millipore’s Rat PP RIA kit provides you with a useful tool for your diabesity animal studies.
