IsoPak ‑ Contained Column Packing and Unpacking



Description
IsoPak columns provide the proven chromatographic performance of our Moduline columns with the additional functionality of pumped slurry packing and unpacking. IsoPack columns can be packed and unpacked without removing the top flow cell, providing contained operation. IsoPak columns increase reproducibility and significantly reduce time to pack and repack.

The IsoPak column is applicable to most commonly used chromatographic media utilized in biopharmaceutical purifications. If in doubt as to suitability for your particular application, contact your local Millipore Application Specialist.



IsoPak Valve



At the center of the technology of the IsoPak column is the patented pneumatically operated IsoPak three port valve. This enables the chromatographic media slurry to be pumped into the column during packing. After processing the pack bed may be reslurried in situ and removed from the column during unpacking.


Slurry Transfer Skid
The Slurry Transfer Skid controls the IsoPak valve and incorporates and controls the pumps and valves for transferring the slurry to and from the column. The skid provides a simple and reliable push button operation for the packing and unpacking operations through the use of pneumatic valves and controls.

Air diaphragm pumps are used for slurry transfer. They provide gentle and reliable operation, combined with simple pre-setting of packing pressures with no danger of over pressurization of the packed bed.

Once packed, the Slurry Transfer Skid pneumatic and slurry lines can be disconnected from the column with the valve in the closed, process position. As the Slurry Transfer Skid is therefore only used during the packing or unpacking operation, only one skid is necessary for multiple column installations.



IsoPak Availability
IsoPak is available in a range of standard columns from 440mm - 1000mm diameter or can be incorporated as a customer selectable feature in a Custom Engineered Column
