Choice of Filter Media
Automation compatible filter units are available in a variety of membrane types and pore sizes, including units with prefilters for particulate-laden samples.
Automation Compatible Packaging
The 200 pack comes preassembled in 8 tubes of 25 each. (The 1000 pack is supplied bulk.)
Reliable Delivery
Some manufacturers’ filter units have a square edge on the housing that can jam in the dispensing carousel. Automation compatible filter units from Millipore have a domed housing to ensure reliable delivery .
Precise Alignment
Filter units with “ears” on the Luer-Lok connection can get stuck in automation equipment. Filter units with Luer slip configurations can have unwanted angular movement. Millipore has optimized the Luer-Lok connection on automation compatible Millex filter units to ensure precise alignment and smooth functioning.
Rigid Housing
Automation compatible filters from Millipore are subject to stringent quality controls, including tests to ensure the filter housing can withstand backpressure from the filtration station. The housings of other manufacturers’ filter units are less rigid, which can cause a workstation to shut down.
