Procedure for Coating Multiwell Plates with Gelatin Solution
Materials and Reagents Required
- EmbryoMax ES Cell Qualified 0.1% Gelatin Solution (Millipore cat. no. ES-006-B)
- ESGRO Complete Gelatin Solution (Millipore cat. no. SF008)
- Sterile Pipette
- Tissue culture plates
| Plate | Amount/Well |
| 96-well | 100 µl |
| 48-well | 300 µl |
| 24-well | 0.5 mL |
| 6-well2 | 1.5-2.0 mL |
| Plate | Amount/Well |
| 30 mm | 1.5-2.0 mL |
| 60 mm | 3.0 mL |
| 100 mm | 4.0-5.0 mL |
Procedure
- Warm 0.1% Gelatin Solution to room temperature before use.
- In a culture hood, under sterile conditions, add Gelatin Solution to each well of the plate as suggested in the table, note use enough to adequately cover the plasticware surface.
- Leave the Gelatin Solution in the wells/plates for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, with dish lids on in the laminar flow hood.
- Remove the Gelatin Solution by aspiration and discard. Immediately add media and cells to the dish. Do not allow the dishes to dry before adding cells.
