Gene Transfer
Determining the impact of protein function on specific cellular pathways and mechanisms using gene transfer is a key technique for studying specific proteins.
We provide one of the broadest collections of protocols for affecting specific genes. RNAi, the technology that won the 2006 Nobel Prize in medicine, is one of the newest and easiest methods for lowering specific gene expression and, in most cases, protein expression. Millipore offers three RNAi-based methods for gene knockdown:
- The short interfering RNAs of the SMARTpools, a pKD line of validated mammalian siRNA expression plasmid
- The AdenoSilence family for adenoviral delivery of RNAi, the newest offering in the gene expression area
- The popular siIMPORTER® Transfection Reagent
With these offerings, Millipore leads the way with the most novel and effective products for infecting both growing and primary cells.
