ACTCellerate™ Human Progenitor Cells

Millipore is now the official distributor of Embryome Sciences’ ACTcellerate human progenitor cells, derived from ES cells, and optimized media. Unlike traditional methods that result in low percentages of progenitor cells, the ACTCellerate lines are generated using a two-step multiplex process that rapidly isolates and purifies progenitor cells from many different lineages. Each progenitor line is selected for scalability and robustness, and then characterized by phenotype and gene marker expression. Six cell lines and optimized growth media for in vitro propagation are now available, and many more will follow in the coming months.

Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Millipore's human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) are derived from human bone marrow and provide a convenient source of highly viable, well-characterized cells for multiple applications. These cells are ideal for in vitro culture, allowing you to study their differentiation pathways and explore their therapeutic potential in diseases such as obesity, arthritis, and osteoporosis. hMSC Features

Stain positive for the MSC markers CD90, CD105, CD106, and STRO-1
Differentiate efficiently into osteocytes and adipocytes using Millipore's differentiation kits
Can be cultures in their undifferentiated state for ≥10 passages using MSC expansion medium
Can be fully characterized with the human MSC characterization kit

Antibodies

Novel Embryogenesis Antibody: EVX-1

Millipore's newest antibody for embryogenesis and development research is anti-EVX-1, clone 3A8. EVX (also known as even-skipped homolog protein) is a nuclear protein belonging to a small family of vertebrate homeobox proteins that have been shown to play an important role as transcriptional repressors during embryogenesis. Expression of EVX-1 during embryogenesis defines the V0 and V1 classes of ventral interneurons in the ventral spinal cord, suggesting that EVX-1 may also serve as a potential drug target for patients who suffer from a loss of motor functions due to spinal cord injury or stroke. In addition to the monoclonal against EVX-1, a polyclonal to related protein EVX-2 is also available.
