Martin D. Madaus

Since joining Millipore in January 2005, Dr. Madaus has sharpened the company's strategic focus and led its transformation from filtration business to leading life science corporation. Under his leadership Millipore has successfully completed several strategic acquisitions, significantly increasing the scope of its global businesses and driving substantial improvements in financial performance. Millipore's focus is on new product and service innovation, attracting and retaining top talent and building long-term environmental sustainability into everything the company does.

Martin Madaus, " I am goal oriented and curious. I try to learn something new every year.

“Right now I am kite boarding. I thrive on the physical challenge and the adrenaline rush I get when I’m out on the water battling the elements. The sense of accomplishment I feel when I finally master something difficult is incredible.

“We need to push ourselves out of our comfort zones in order to learn and grow. It is in making mistakes that we learn how to recover. I believe this is true both personally and professionally. That's why finding ways to make our great company more innovative is such an interesting challenge. I don't know how far we can get, but I do know that if we learn and apply the art and science of innovation, we will become more successful."

Martin was born and raised in Germany and is fluent in several languages. He is a naturalized U.S. citizen and is passionate about protecting the environment.
