Local Community

Millipore supports education, public safety , science, social services and sustainable initiatives in the immediate and surrounding communities where it has operations in the U.S including: Bedford, Billerica, Boston, Burlington, Danvers, and Lowell, MA; Jaffrey, NH; Kankakee, IL; St. Charles, MO and Temecula, CA.

Equipment Donations

To further its commitment to build the life sciences workforce and support local academic institutions, Millipore donated over $225,000 in equipment and services to the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in April 2009. The equipment will be used in the new Millipore Corporation Process Development Laboratory to help train students and industry professionals on downstream purification research. This donation includes clarification, chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF) systems and disposable mixing systems.

Scholarships

Millipore believes in supporting high school students in their pursuit of a college education and has established scholarships in each of the U.S. communities where Millipore operates.

Boys & Girls Club

Over the past nine years, Millipore has supported Boys and Girls Clubs on the east and west coasts which provide vital after school educational and recreational programs to local children. In 2007, the Boys & Girls Club of Billerica awarded Millipore the “Company of the Year” for outstanding service to the community.

Everybody Wins Reading Program

Studies prove that children who are read to have strong reading comprehension skills. Millipore is proud to support the efforts Everybody Wins Reading Program which pairs employees with local elementary students for 30 minute reading sessions. Since 2003, Millipore employees have volunteered over 3000 hours to this program in partnership with the Vining Elementary School in Billerica, MA.
