Quantitative Cell Imaging Kits
Whether images are being capture with a manual fluorescence microscope or a state of the art automated high content analysis (HCA) instrument, a high quality image is required for reliable and quantitative data. This is what Millipore’s QCI kits deliver and much more. Moreover, the daunting task of assay develop is a thing of the past as Millipore’s QCI kits are designed to use out of the box.

Cell imaging can reveal effects that would be missed by other assay types. The neurotoxic effects of nocodazole treatment on neurite length can be seen in the images (above: DMSO control, left; 0.1 μM, middle; and 10 μM, right) and quantified (below: red line). Whereas, nacodazole had no effects using a MTT assay (below: blue line) a common viability assays that measures the metabolic activity of mitochondrial reductase.

The Erk phosphorylation response of Chem-1 cells (wildtype – above, left images; OX1 receptor transfected - above, right images) upon treatment with vehicle (top images) or 10 μM Orexin A (bottom images) can be quantified to produce dose response curves (below) using Millipore’s Phospho–ERK1/2 (Thr185/Tyr187) Assay Kit (catalogue number HCS230) .
