Safety & Toxicity Profiling
High Content Analysis (HCA) is automated, quantitative, image acquisition and analysis. HCA has a direct impact in every area of cellular research and has especially improved the throughput of the drug discovery process by allowing detection of multiple parameters in a single assay. Combining the power of HCA with high-quality reagents and bioinformatics, scientists can quickly learn more about relevant functional cell biology in many systems. New reagents, antibodies and dyes are being validated and incorporated into ready-to-use kits and assays, to make HCA easier to incorporate into the laboratory workflow.
Hepatotoxicty Assay
The Hepatotoxicty Assay screens compounds for a broad range of potentially toxic effects early in the drug discovery process. One key area for incorporating HCA into drug discovery is the development of cell based assays for measuring drug toxicity, or in vitro toxicology. Millipore has co-developed a new HCA assay—the Hepatotoxicty kit for human hepatotoxicity. The most comprehensive cell-based cytotoxicity assay available, Hepatotoxicty provides a new way of prioritizing lead compounds based on cytotoxicity indices.
