Easy to Use, Turnkey System
The Guava Auto CD4/CD4% System from Millipore, with its integrated benchtop instrument, unique reagent cocktail, and automated gating and acquisition software, provides the ability to easily monitor patients T-lymphocytes with minimum technical expertise to operate and obtain high quality results. The 3 in 1 Guava Auto CD4/CD4% Assay provides:

Automatic Gating and acquisition Software
Easy to learn and use, the Guava Auto CD4/CD4% Software Module provides automated data acquisiton, gating and analysis. Combined with the unique reagent cocktail this system is a new benchmark for simplicity and ease of use.

Sample reports and data set reports containing all infor­mation relevant to the assay are easily printed for documen­tation in laboratory notebooks, displaying operator name, sample ID, blood draw date, reagent expiry date and more.
Performance Equivalent to Established Methods
Performance of Guava Auto CD4/CD4% System has been evaluated in multiple laboratories against several well-accepted methods for determining absolute CD4 counts and CD4% values. Studies were performed on both adult and pediatric HIV samples as well as normal samples. Auto CD4/CD4% Assay test results were compared to results from other well established methods for CD4 analysis (Figure 1), showing consistently comparable results.
Auto CD4/CD4% Assay: A Simplified Solution for Pediatric Samples
Absolute CD4 counts in children undergo variation with age and development, so additional parameters are needed to monitor progression of pediatric HIV infection. An accepted indicator for this patient population is CD4 percentage, which is absolute CD4 counts expressed as a percentage of total lymphocytes. The ability to provide both absolute CD4 counts and CD4% test results simultaneously makes the Guava Auto CD4/CD4% Assay useful for the analysis of both pediatric and adult HIV samples. In clinical studies performed at external test sites the Auto CD4/CD4% Assay showed excellent performance for the analysis of pediatric HIV samples and yielded comparable results to clinical lab test results.
