Guava easyCyte^™ flow cytometry systems use novel microcapillary technology and are compact, user-friendly, and powerful enough to run your most complicated assays.

Sample handling formats for both tubes and 96-well plates

Automated Sampling for 96-well Plates

The guava easyCyte^™ HT series enables walkaway sample handling for higher throughput assays using a built-in, automated 96-well plate loader tray, which can hold a 96-well plate as well as 10 sample tubes. To ensure that cells stay in suspension during sampling, a rotating, variable- speed mixing paddle with auto-cleaning is used between each well so there is no need for manual resuspension after loading the plate. This virtually eliminates carryover between samples and mixes more efficiently than shaking plate holder formats.

Single Sample Loading for Tubes

For manual sample handling in a cost-effective format, we offer the guava easyCyte^™ with its rotating sample tube loader. The manual loader holds two separate tubes, allowing the user to progress quickly from one sample to another, or to wash between samples following an acquisition.

No Sheath Fluid - Direct sampling using the patented microcapillary system

All guava easyCyte™ systems use a unique, microcapillary flow cell for easy operation and minimal maintenance.
- The microcapillary allows direct sampling by aspiration, eliminating the need for sheath fluid, and complex microfluidics (see figure). As a result, the instrument is very compact in size and simple to operate. The flow cell is self-aligning and the user can easily remove it for cleaning. This feature enables the system to be used with a wide variety of cell types.

Direct Absolute counts without reference beads
Absolute cell counts are a valuable advantage of direct sampling because they enable specific enumeration of cell. A positive displacement syringe pump enables this direct sampling, and can adjust the flow rate as well.

Versatile & User Friendly Software

Viacount module for Viability and Cell Counting, including the EasyFit Gate.

GuavaSoft Acquisition & Analysis software includes two formats. Modules use an interface which enables easy sample acquisition. Optimized for each assay, guava assay-specific software modules display only the plots and statistics you need.
InCyte software simplifies data acquisition with the following features:
- Drag-and-drop gating for easy analysis of specific populations.
- Unique heat mapping allowing rapid visualization of up to 6 parameters at once for multiple samples.
- Construct dose response curves using EC50/IC50 feature by selecting groups of data.
- Transfer methods and settings between instruments, even with different optical layouts.
- Manual or automated compensation capabilities.
- Automatic export of data to CSV file format
InCyte software is also an ideal platform for simultaneous comparisons of multiple samples. For example, heat-map based analysis can be used to analyze up to 8 parameters, from a plate-based study, in real time (see graphic below).

Compatibility with automated liquid handlers

For automated liquid handling in combination with flow cytometry analysis, customers can link their guava easyCyte^™ 8HT system to a variety of robotic configurations from vendors such as Hamilton and Tecan. Once the instrument is integrated into the configuration, the user can program assays directly through the liquid handler, which directs the flow cytometer to begin analyzing sample plates once they are loaded into the easyCyte^™ instrument by the robotic system.

Robust Optics with Modulation

The guava easyCyte^™ optical bench is compact with fixed alignment and features dual colinear laser capabilities with modulation. As shown in the optical layouts below, optical configurations include one (blue) or two lasers (blue and red) to address common flow cytometry applications. Industry-standard filter sets provide up to 6 colors and 8 parameters including FSc/SSc. No user adjustments are necessary, as laser and optical filter alignments are fixed with buffers in place to reduce the effects of vibration transference from internal mechanisms or external sources

Dual Laser Configurations

In the 2-laser systems, such as the 6-2L/6HT-2L and the 8/8HT, the lasers overlap spatially, and are modulated out of phase with each other at a high frequency of 60 kHz so that each particle is sampled many times as it travels through the overlapped beams.
