Ultrapure Water

Introduction

Several Millipore water systems are designed to produce ultrapure (Type I) water. Some can operate directly from tap (potable) water and others from pure water (Elix, RiOs, distilled or DI water). The selection of the proper ultrapure water system for your laboratory will depend on several parameters such as: feed water available in the laboratory, instant and daily volumes needs of ultrapure water or ultrapure and pure water, the quality of monitoring of water quality and the level of certification required and several other points. Ultrapure water directly from tap water feed

For laboratories that do not have a reliable source of pure water, Millipore offers compact water systems producing pure and ultrapure water directly from tap water. This concept offers several benefits:
  • It allows installation of a complete water system in minimum amount of space in any lab with tap water feed
  • It eliminates the need for central water purification systems and the associated water delivery loops which may be complex, expensive, difficult to maintain and to extend
  • It gives the users of the water system complete control over all water purification steps and the final water quality.

The following systems are available for that purpose:

Milli-Q Integral

For ultrapure (Type 1) water needs up to 200 L/day and pure (Type 2) water needs up to 350 L/day.

Direct-Q

For for ultrapure (Type 1) water needs up to 10 L/day and pure (Type 3) water needs up to 50 L/day.

Ultrapure water from pure water feed

For laboratories that already have access to a reliable pure water source or who need both large volumes of pure water and small to large volumes of ultrapure water, Millipore can provide specific solutions. Milli-Q Advantage

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 300 L/day, designed to fit with all laboratory applications (spectrophotometry, chromatography, cell culture or molecular biology) with the convenience of up to 3 different ultrapure water delivery points and water quality specifically tailored to the application.

Milli-Q Academic

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 200 L/day – designed for regular laboratory techniques such as spectrophotometry, atomic absorption or spectroscopy.

Milli-Q Gradient

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 200 L/day – designed for Chromatography applications such as HPLC, UPLC or GC.

Milli-Q Biocel

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 200 L/day – designed for cell culture applications (buffers and media production) when pyrogen and nuclease-free water is required.

Milli-Q Synthesis

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 200 L/day – designed for molecular biology applications (buffers and media production) when pyrogen and nuclease-free water is required.

Milli-Q Element

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 200 L/day – designed for trace elemental analysis down and below the ppt (ng/L) level.

Synergy

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 100 L/day.

Simplicity

For ultrapure (Type 1) water needs up to 5 L/day – a personal system designed to economically replace ultrapure bottled water.

Super-Q

For ultrapure (Type I) water needs up to 12,000 L/day – designed for pilot and small process applications.


All the above systems can be fed by pure water produced by Millipore Elix or RiOs Water Systems.
