Estrogen receptor 1 ( ESR1 ) gene encodes an estrogen receptor, aligand-activated transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormonebinding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription [1]. ESR1 isinvolved in regulation of many normal processes, such as development, reproduction,apoptosis, neurophysiologic processes [2], [3], [4], [5] and pathological processes, such as including breast cancer,endometrial cancer, and osteoporosis [6], [7].

ESR1 is essential for sexual development, reproductive function and organmorphogenesis. It regulates transcription of some developmental signal proteins: SRY (sexdetermining region Y)-box 3 and 9 ( SOX3 and SOX9 ) [8],[9], Forkhead box A1 ( HNF3-alpha ) [10], Bonemorphogenetic protein 6 ( BMP6 ) [11].

ESR1 play important role in metabolism regulation influencing on transcriptionof many enzymes: Alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase ( AMACR ) [8], WWdomain containing oxidoreductase ( WWOX ) [9],3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-Coenzyme A reductase ( HMDH ) [12] etal.

Many functions of ESR1 are realized via regulation of channels and transportersin different tissues. For example, it stimulates transcription of Solute carrier family 9(sodium/hydrogen exchanger) member 1 ( SLC9A1 ), Glutamate receptor ionotropic,kainate 4 ( Grik4 ) [13], Aquaporin 5 [14], Solutecarrier family 2 (facilitated glucose transporter) member 1 ( GLUT1 ) [9] and others.
