Millipore manufacturing facility in Cork, Ireland named “Business of the Year”
Millipore’s manufacturing facility at Carrigtwhohill, County Cork was recently named “Business of the Year” at the annual meeting of the Cobh and Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Chamber President Michael Martin presented the award to Millipore’s Nigel Williams, Director, Manufacturing for Great Britain and Ireland.
“Their confidence in this location sends out a message far beyond the confines of the harbour that underlines the value of coming here to do business,” said Martin.
“As a company we have iterated our confidence in this area and its workers by continued investment in our product and plant,” said Williams.
“Our facility in Cork is a Millipore Manufacturing Center of Excellence providing quality products to our global customers,” said Peter Kershaw, Corporate Vice President of Global Operations. “It plays an important role in the company and we are very proud of the work being done there. Congratulations to the hard working staff and sincere thanks to the Cobh and Harbor Chamber of Commerce for this recognition.”
Millipore Ireland manufactures filtration devices and plastic membrane films which are used in a wide range of critical applications requiring filtration and purification.
The plant is located on a 38 acre site at Carrigtwohill, County Cork and employs 564.
