Merck Millipore offers quick test for EHEC in food

Merck Millipore's Biomonitoring business has announced a product called Duopath Verotoxins that actually detects EHEC from food and clinical samples*. The Duopath Verotoxins test can deliver a positive or negative result within 20 minutes once the food has been enriched and plated. Additionally a direct screening method for detection of EHEC in foods has been developed and is currently under evaluation. The one-step design is convenient, requires no special training, and reduces errors in application. This product family also includes a test called Singlepath E. coli O157, which detects the most common serogroup of pathogenic E. coli. All Merck rapid methods are optimized for use in combination with Merck’s high quality Culture Media.
