Western blotting has been a routine protein detection method for nearly three decades. During that time, the final steps have not changed much – most chemiluminescent protocols still rely on an unstable, two-part detection reagent that’s mixed just before use for greater sensitivity. Luminata HRP substrates eliminate that extra mixing step, while still providing quality results.

“Luminata substrates are specially formulated for increased stability,” said Sahar Sibani, Product Manager for Protein Detection Products. “They provide researchers with an easy-to-use, premixed format that won’t compromise signal intensity.” The premixed format also makes protein detection faster and reduces cross contamination among multiple reagent bottles.

The Luminata line includes three different sensitivities that, combined with low background signals, enable detection of protein concentrations down to the femtomole range without enhancers or special buffers. The reagents are also highly compatible, complementing Millipore’s wide selection of Western blot reagents and tools, including Immobilon® blotting membranes, antibodies, blocking buffers, and the SNAP i.d.® vacuum-based protein detection system.
