St. Charles, Missouri LEED® Building Completed

Millipore recently unveiled its expanded Drug Discovery and Development facility in St. Charles, Missouri.

The $3.4 million expansion will enable Millipore to keep pace with the growth of its worldwide drug discovery and development business. This building will house new labs, offices and 60 new employees (the facility currently employs 187 people).

The St. Charles expansion, a 17,000 square-foot addition to one of Millipore’s three buildings on the 43-acre Missouri Research Park campus, also demonstrates Millipore’s continued commitment to reducing its environmental impacts from its operations. The facility will be certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating SystemTM for Commercial Interiors. This will mark Millipore’s first LEED certification project worldwide.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, the LEED Commercial Interiors Rating System (LEED-CI) is applicable to tenant improvements of new or existing office space. Certification includes meeting or exceeding credits in the following areas: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation & Design Process.
