Clean-In-Place (CIP) Rinse Water
Clean-In-Place (CIP) refers to the process of cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment while fully assembled without dismantling and cleaning the individual parts. Cleaning in place significantly reduces the time and cost (and generally ineffective) implications of manual cleaning. It requires sanitizer solution of suitable concentration to be circulated through the process equipment. Industries that rely heavily on CIP are those requiring high levels of hygiene, and include dairy, beverage, brewing, processed foods, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics.
Knowing that a manufacturing line is properly cleaned is the base for starting manufacturing on that line. Microbiological contamination control can be thought of as one of the most critical parameters in this task. Millipore provides tools to rapidly monitor contaminations in the CIP processes to enhance productivity and enable faster manufacturing schedules.
