Ion Channels
New Solutions for an Emerging Target Class
The advent of automated patch clamp techniques for the study of ion channels has made this important target class more accessible for drug discovery. Millipore has developed a collection of robust, validated ion channel cell lines and screening services that extend your capabilities for ion channel discovery and safety pharmacology.
The need for high-quality, high-throughput ion channel screening expanded in the mid-1990s when ion channels (notably hERG) were implicated in life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. Specialized safety profiling as well as functional, validated ion channel lines are now available to meet both your in-house and outsourcing needs. Today, Millipore provides cardiac ion channel profiling in addition to hERG selectivity profiling, as well as a portfolio of PrecisION™ ion channel cell lines. Because Millipore uses an automated patch clamp system, we alleviate the bottleneck traditionally associated with ion channels and traditional patch clamp techniques. Millipore’s ion channel screening capabilities deliver functional data, allowing you to screen more compounds and enable profiling of key cardiac ion channels earlier in the lead optimization process.

Protein Biomarker Analysis
The Power of Simultaneous Multi-Analyte Detection
Linco® and Upstate® developed the first multiplex assays for the Luminex platform. Millipore is proud to offer this combined portfolio of both Upstate Beadlyte® and Linco LINCOplex® multiplex immunodetection kits and reagents for use with Luminex xMAP® technology. This technology allows simultaneous quantitation of up to 100 analytes in a single sample saving time, money and precious sample volume.
Our multiplexing portfolio has uniquely evolved through innovative collaborations with industry leaders and has been built on decades of experience in antibody development for metabolic disorders and cell signaling pathways. In addition to our depth of knowledge in the area of multiplexing all of our assays are designed to meet stringent criteria to ensure sensitivity, reproducibility, and specificity with each assay undergoing linearity, spike recovery, and inter/ intra assay reproducibility validation.
